CHAPTER 2
THE PROCESS OF INITIATION
When children are five years old and attain some awareness, the parents, brothers, sisters or any guardian may initiate them in Na'ma Mantra [the preliminary process of meditation]. They should be taught to sit in padma'sana [lotus posture], but instead of interlocking the fingers, they may rest one palm upon the other; and keep the spine erect. They will then be instructed to feel or imagine that everything around them, and whatever they visualize, is Brahma.
After this, at the age of twelve, the child should take initiation from an a'ca'rya/a' in Sa'dha'ran'a Yoga, and at sixteen or afterwards, they should take initiation in Sahaja Yoga from the a'ca'rya/a'. If considered essential, a'sanas may be taught before the age of sixteen.
The Purodha' Board may consider imparting lessons in Vishes'a Yoga* to some of the initiates who are adept in Sahaja Yoga, who have an ardent desire to learn this higher yoga, and who can afford to devote sufficient time every day for the same.
* Sa'dha'ran'a Yoga, Sahaja Yoga and Vishes'a Yoga are increasingly advanced processes of yoga. See also the section of this chapter on diiks'a'da'na. -Trans.
The a'ca'rya/a's or purodha's will not take any remuneration from their initiates for initiation. It is the duty of every Ananda Margi to help maintain the financial security of the a'ca'rya/a's and purodha's.
A person of twelve or above may only be initiated by an a'ca'rya/a', a ta'ttvika, or a dharmamitram. No fee is to be charged for this initiation. The process of daks'ina' [offering to the master] is the same in Na'ma Mantra as it is in Pra'rambhika,* Sa'dha'ran'a and Sahaja Yoga. In Na'ma Mantra there is no process of shuddhis [withdrawal of the mind] or repetition of mantra by syllables.
* Pra'rambhika Yoga is an elementary process, more advanced than Na'ma Mantra. -Trans.
Arrangements have to be made so that those who are initiated in Na'ma Mantra can also learn gradually the lessons of Yama and Niyama. As far as possible it is preferable not to initiate more than one person at a time in Na'ma Mantra. Na'ma Mantra should not be taught to more than four persons at a time.
NAMING THE INITIATED PERSON
At the time of initiation or shortly afterwards, those who do not have a Sanskrit name should be given one by the a'ca'rya/a'. The word deva should be suffixed to the name. Every person is at liberty to use his/her own surname, but the more the usage of deva as a title, the better it is. The Sanskrit name should be used in all worldly dealings. Even when the naming is done in Sanskrit, you will give equal respect and full scope to all languages.
Diiks'a'da'na [Initiation]
(1) Only a few selected individuals will be initiated into the difficult Vishes'a Yoga. Purodha's alone are entitled to give this initiation.
(2) Those who are deserving and have an earnest desire will be initiated in Sahaja Yoga. A'ca'rya/a's alone are entitled to initiate them.
(3) The a'ca'rya/a' will impart training only in Sa'dha'ran'a Yoga to those persons for whom the practice of Sahaja Yoga is inconvenient, or who for any other reason are unable to practise it. In Sa'dha'ran'a Yoga there is no restriction of diet, because a'sanas are excluded from this course.
(4) The a'ca'rya/a' will impart training in Pra'rambhika Yoga to those for whom Sa'dha'ran'a Yoga is inconvenient. In Pra'rambhika Yoga, too, there are no a'sanas, therefore there are no dietary restrictions. Those who have an earnest desire to practise a'sanas or who need to practise a'sanas for physical or mental reasons, can be imparted training in a'sanas by the a'ca'rya/a', even along with Pra'rambhika Yoga, if the a'ca'rya/a' so pleases. If the a'ca'rya/a' has little time at his/her disposal, he/she will impart training in Pra'rambhika Yoga in the beginning even to those with developed sam'ska'ras [mental reactive momenta]. Later, on getting adequate proof of the initiate's worth, the a'ca'rya/a' will train him/her in Sa'dha'ran'a Yoga or Sahaja Yoga.
Even a Pra'rambhika yogi who is practising a'sanas will have to abide by the rules laid down for practising a'sanas. (See Carya'carya Part 3.)
(5) Initiation in Pra'rambhika, Sa'dha'ran'a and, in special cases, Sahaja Yoga will be done before the pratiika [emblem].

Modern witchcraft continued to prosper during the subsequent decades. Many followers of the ecological and feminist movements found in Wicca a religion with congenial themes. Wiccans emphasized the sacred meaning of nature and its cycles and the coequal role of gods and goddesses and of priests and priestesses. Some Wiccan groups, called Dianic (after the goddess Diana), include only women and worship the goddess exclusively. Closely related “neopagan” religions have also appeared in revivals of ancient Egyptian, Celtic, Greek, and Nordic religions. WICCA perceives itself as a religion based on the broad themes of ancient pre-Christian paganism, although it is not drawn directly from paganism—for example, Wicca shuns some features of the old paganism, such as animal sacrifice. THOUSAND SUTRAS
SPIRITUAL SPLENDOR

“Are you Physically, Socially, Psychically and Spiritually clean?

HM: If so... then you may enter in the His Majesty, thousand sutras spiritual splendor.”
Itong Ispiritual na Karunungan at kawikaan, ay dapat unawain saka pag-isipang mainam at talinhagang tunay.
“Nararapat na unawain at pag-isipang mainam ang totoong talinhagang dito’y napapaloob, sapagkat kung susuriin ang mismong may akda ay hindi niya inakala na sa kanyang sariling gawa lahat sa kanya at tatama.”
HM: May mga taong sa minsan pagkabasa nitong Ispiritual na Kawikaan, ay kaagad na humahatol para sa karunungang maka-lupa. Sila yaong mga taong nagmamagaling sa Maylikha, at ibig pang sumbatan ang Kataastaasan.
“Makikita nating tuwiran na ang mismong may gawa ng mga sutrang ito ang siya mismong nagmamagaling sa Maylikha (Parama Purusa), ang mga salitang kabanalan ay ginagamit sa sariling kapakinabangan.”
HM: Kahit na ito’y nasusulat na hinalintulad sa materyal na kaparaanan, ang kahulugan nito’y Mahiwaga na hindi maaaruk ng inyong sariling diwa. Kaya h’wag kayong maging padalos-dalos, at ang kahulogan nito ay mas malalim pa sa inyong inakala. Sapagkat ito’y may ispiriual na kaugnayan sa inyong ‘supreme self’.
“Mismong may akda hindi naarok ng kanyang sariling diwa ang HIWAGA ng mga sinulat niyang kung saan-saan niya kinopya, sinalin lang sa tagalog inari ng kanya.”
HM: Kaya kung ang bagay na ito’y ihahambing sa materyal na kahulogan, hindi pa ito ang tunay; bagkos ay sa malalim at ispiritual na kaparaanan. Upang lumusong pa kayo sa higit na mas malalim kaysa sa dating kalagayan at antas ng inyong diwa.
“Hindi na kailangan pang ihambing sa kung saan-saan o dapat pang lumalim sa nais ipakahulugan, makikita mismo ang kasagutan sa gawa at kaisipan ng may gawa.”

Sa sutrang ito makikita nating tuwirang inaamin ng gumawa na siya ay sugo ng KARIMLAN dahil sa takot ang kanyang instrumento at kasangkapan upang mapagsamantalahan ang mga kaawa-awang indibidwal, kaya makikita ang mga miyembro ng kanyang samahan na puno ng TAKOT ang mga sarili at hindi magawang umalis sa kanya kahit ito ang nais nila. Sa mga kasama at kapatid ko sa ispiritual ito ang itanim nyo sa puso at isip nyo “satyam eva jayate nanritam (KATOTOHANAN ang magwawagi hindi ang KASINUNGALINGAN)”.

Katahimikan (peace) ay tuwirang tumutukoy sa kalayaan sa anumang kaguluhan pisikal man o maging sa kaisipan, subalit nakamit ba ng mga taong napapaloob sa samahang ito ang katahimikang binabanggit?
